Community Groups
Belonging to a Wessex Heartbeat Community Group offers the opportunity to have fun, share and learn new skills, make friends and to feel a part of the local community.
So if you have time on your hands, help improve support to local people living with heart conditions and together we can save lives. 
What is a Community Group?
Wessex Heartbeat Community Groups are to raise awareness of the charity in their local community, assist at Wessex Heartbeat events that are local to them and run their own events.
Each Community Group will have an Ambassador who will be the main contact point between the Community Group and Wessex Heartbeat. To learn more about this role, please click here.
What might this include?
There are many different ways to raise awareness of Wessex Heartbeat and raise funds. This could simply be from talking to people about Wessex Heartbeat to increase people’s knowledge, helping the Wessex Heartbeat team out at events local to you and getting involved and arranging your own events such as:
• Coffee Mornings
• Summer Garden Parties
• Collection Tin events
• Quiz Nights
• Sponsored Walks
• Selling Wessex Heartbeat merchandise and Christmas cards at markets. 
Who will I meet?
You will meet like minded people who have chosen to support the charity because they may have been affected by a cardiac condition or wish to support their local cardiac centre and support their community.
How often will I need to be involved?
Members can have as much or as little involvement as they wish. You could manage your own event annually or simply support members of your group who are running their own. Wessex Heartbeat will keep in contact with the Community Group to let you know of events we are arranging in your area that you may wish to help at.
It is advised Community Groups meet monthly to update each other on activities and also to act as a social get together.
Is there one in my area?
Community Groups are based all over the Wessex region. We have groups set up and are always looking to create new ones. Please see a list of our current groups below, if your area is not included please contact us.
