Feisty Fee's Fun Walk

Feisty Fee's Fun Walk evolved from the sudden death of a much loved and popular friend, to many.

Fiona died suddenly on June 6th 2008 at the age of 24. Her friends decided to organise a fancy dress walk in her memory and in aid of Wessex Heartbeat.

A lot of people turned up for the event in fancy dress

The event took place in Jersey on September 13th and the response was amazing. Over eighty walkers in some fantastic outfits turned up and walked along the seafront carrying collection cans and buckets. A sum of over £5,000 has been raised so far. Plus, Lloyds TSB (her place of work) and H.S.B.C pledged to match the total raised by their employees who took part.

Fiona had her first surgery in 2004, an aortic dissection. Recovery was only partial and was followed by further major surgery in the September. Her determination and love for life helped her overcome the trauma of surgery, she returned to work and continued with her activities which included travelling, keep fit and socialising (fancy dress being a particular favourite!).

Fiona's mum and dad (Marie and George) are very proud of her friends for all their time and effort, and would like to say a big Thank You to all who took part in or sponsored the event.
