Heartbeat Education Centre’s top notch facilities save the day in wake of the ash cloud
   

The ash cloud has reigned upon us once again, preventing people from taking to the skies.  Mr Marcus Haw, Clinical Lead for Congenital Cardiac Services at Southampton General Hospital, was unable to reach his destination of Italy to be a guest speaker at a conference for two days. All was not lost however, as the state-of-the-art video conferencing facilities at the Heartbeat Education Centre meant that Mr Haw was able to fulfil his speaking duties from Southampton.  The HEC’S video conferencing network also came to the rescue of the organisers of St George’s University of London Stroke Research Meeting, whose keynote speaker could not fly out from Ireland.
