After less than a year at the helm, Wessex Heartbeat's Chief Executive Officer, D'Arcy Myers, has been nominated for a top-flight regional charity award.

He was put forward for recognition in the Wessex Charity Awards 2009 in the "Chief Executive of the Year" category.
The Awards are a fresh initiative to officially recognise the work undertaken by the charity sector in the Wessex region.
Nominations were accepted on behalf of charities or individuals who deserved acknowledgement for outstanding work during the past 12 months.
D'Arcy, who took up his post in January 2008, and is passionate about professionalism in the voluntary sector, was delighted to be nominated.
He said: "I am honoured to have received a nomination for the Wessex Charity Awards 2009 under the Chief Executive of the Year category. I joined the Wessex Heartbeat team a year ago and am delighted at how the charity is moving forwards, creating new and exciting opportunities for the future. It is wonderful to be able to continue working with so many different people from all sections of our community and I hope that we can all continue working together to make a difference to those that need it the most."
