PR and Marketing Officer
Up to £20,000 pa
We are seeking a first class communicator in order to promote and foster the work of the charity through all channels of communication. With responsibility for planning and producing the marketing and PR material, you will possess excellent written and verbal skills, and have a strong eye for detail. Previous negotiation experience is preferred as you will be responsible for obtaining the best prices on all print and design materials. Although a charity background is not essential for this role, it does require someone who can demonstrate an empathy and interest in the work of the organisation. A background in marketing, public relations or communications required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsibility for all Marketing Communications (including press releases, newsletter, leaflets, flyers, website content)
2. Negotiating with print and design suppliers
3. Networking at events on behalf of the charity
4. Attending fundraising events as and when required
5. Liaising with media, publications and external agencies
6. Point of contact for members of the public
7. Responding to queries from the public
8. Ability to work in accordance with the charities confidentiality policy
Person Specification
1. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
2. Attention to detail
3. Ability to prioritise and strong time management skills
4. Knowledge of Photoshop, In design or equivalent
5. Multi-tasker and flexible attitude
6. Ability to represent the charity in a positive and professional manner at all times
7. Good networking skills
8. Positive attitude
9. Computer literate
10. Willingness and ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
