Wendy and Chris Lewis after the Bristol 10K race with their medals
open speech marks

Wendy and Chris Lewis were inspired to run the Bristol 10k Road Race to raise money for Wessex Heartbeat after their granddaughter Lucy had surgery at the Wessex Cardiac Centre last year.

Wendy said "Running for Wessex Heartbeat was a joint venture and I am pleased to report that Chris and I both completed the Race without having to resort to walking! "

We decided to try to do some fund-raising for Wessex Heartbeat because we could see how our granddaughter, our daughter and her husband had benefited from the professionals' skills, the care and the facilities at the Centre.

We are all incredibly grateful for the skills of all the team at the Centre and our daughter and her husband found the facilities that have been funded by the charity, most specifically Ocean Ward and Heartbeat House, both a benefit and a comfort to Lucy and themselves. We set up a Just Giving page to help us raise sponsorship money and to date have raised £527.00.
