	Join us! Our volunteers dedicate their time and energy to improve the support given to people affected by heart conditions, by fundraising and raising awareness. Why volunteer? Gain new experiences working with us, have fun, share your skills, and together we can improve support and save lives. What can I get involved in? Tireless fundraising by volunteers raises money towards improving cardiac care, but it's not only by raising money that volunteers can make a big contribution. Support the fundraising team in their office

Wessex Heartbeat are happy to welcome volunteers to assist with organising events, contacting supporters and answering calls, co-ordinating collections, banking donations and press and PR work.

Raise Awareness of Wessex Heartbeat

If you are a member of a group or society, have radio or other media contacts or enjoy speaking yourself, then why not raise awareness of Wessex Heartbeat? D'Arcy Myers, our CEO, is available to give talks on the charity and we are happy to help any budding speakers with information & images for a presentation on the charity.

Offer to help out at events

Many of our supporters put on events in the community and we are often asked if there is anyone who would like to go along to help. This is a great opportunity to volunteer for a few hours with no further commitment. We occasionally require volunteers at our events as well, manning tombola stalls, selling raffle tickets, taking part in bucket collections and explaining more about the charity to attendants.

Become an Ambassador

Looking after all of the volunteers in a certain area and recruiting new ones, our Ambassadors play a vital role in helping us co-ordinate our fundraising efforts. Representing Wessex Heartbeat at events by giving talks and accepting cheques, helping volunteers organise events and raising awareness of Wessex Heartbeat are all important roles that are played by Ambassadors.

Trim & sort stamps

We are able to raise valuable funds by selling the used stamps that our supporters send in. However these stamps have to be neatly trimmed and sorted into British, foreign and valuable groups before we can sell them. We have two volunteers who visit the offices every Tuesday morning, George and Brenda, and many others who trim stamps at home.
