Lewis and Sam are taking on the challenge of getting around the Isle of Wight in under 24 hours, in support of their close friend and close friend of Wessex Heartbeat - Alex Ind.

Alex and his family have always been very special to Wessex Heartbeat and it's amazing to see that influence spreading to their friends and giving them reason to support us too.

Lewis and Sam are undertaking a monumental challenge, all in the name of raising money for Wessex Heartbeat.

This is their story:
"We are taking on the challenge of getting around the Isle of Wight (100km) in under 24 hours.

We will be raising money in support of Wessex Heartbeat, a charity that has had a huge influence on our close friend, Alex. Wessex has been there for Alex helping him through a multitude of testing times.

In Al’s life, he has gone through 4 open heart surgeries, the first being when he was 14 months, the second at age 7, the third at 17 and the most recent at 20 years old. Thanks to the fantastic work of Wessex Heartbeat, Alex has been able to stay in the young adults cardiac ward for his last two surgeries, the environment Wessex provided has benefitted Alex massively as it provides a home from home while going through surgery.

For the great work that Wessex Heartbeat has done for Alex and continue to do for young people in need, we would love to do what we can to give back.

Any support would be greatly appreciated."

The challenge is going ahead on the 29th August. You can support Lewis and Sam here.
