Regional heart charity Wessex Heartbeat is bringing its popular ‘Dancing with Choirs’ show to Bournemouth Pavilion this summer.

The eagerly anticipated event, to be held on Sunday June 14, will see more than 350 performers from local choirs and dance academies in the Bournemouth area come together for a spectacular evening of song and dance.

Money raised from the evening will go directly to helping Wessex Heartbeat in supporting cardiac care in the community.

With community at its heart, the charity has teamed up with several local organisations to put on the one-night extravaganza, including Bournemouth College who will not only be entering dancers from its Arts department to the show, but will also be playing a huge role in the promotion of the event.

Diane Grannell, Principal of Bournemouth and Poole College said: “I am delighted that Bournemouth and Poole College is involved with Wessex Heartbeat’s Dancing with Choirs.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for our students to gain real industry experience – performing in the show to developing promotional materials, while also helping to raise funds for a brilliant local charity.”

It is a fantastic opportunity for the community to showcase some incredible talent while raising vital funds for the charity. Last year we managed to raise a fantastic £11,000 which we hope to surpass this year.”

Dancing with Choirs will feature such acts as Wessex Harmony, Southern Union, First Position School of Dance and Parkewood School of Dance as well as other professional performers, local schools, colleges, choirs and dance academies in a cast of more than 350.
