Wessex Heartbeat will benefit from the fundraising efforts of Symonds and Sampson during 2019, the firm has announced.

Staff and customers of the local estate agents, auctioneers and surveyors will spend the year raising money and awareness for Wessex Heartbeat. And senior partner Andrew Robinson says there is good reason for choosing the charity as its official good cause.

“I nominated Wessex Heartbeat because I became all too familiar with the wonderful services of the NHS in Southampton and Bournemouth when I fell ill last year,”

Wessex Heartbeat works to ensure people being treated at the Wessex Cardiac Centre in Southampton are provided with the best possible care and support. Cardiac treatment is often a long and complicated journey, affecting many people in different ways. The charity aims to support everybody - from patients to friends and relatives every step of the way.

“I’m pleased to say I’m fit and well again, and am only too pleased to support a charity which not only aided my recovery - but also supported my family during a very difficult year.”

John Munro, chief executive of Wessex Heartbeat, added: “We are incredibly grateful for the backing we’re getting from Symonds and Sampson. The funds we receive will be used to support a range of initiatives - both at Wessex Cardiac Centre and in our healthy heart outreach in the community."

“It will also be an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of cardiac health factors such as BMI and blood pressure - and to offer Symonds and Sampson staff advice on how to get fitter and healthier, hopefully helping them avoid any serious issues later in life. I’d like to offer our heartfelt thanks for everything they are doing to support the work we do.”

Symonds and Sampson will be taking part in exciting fundraising events during the course of 2019.
