Full Time Community Fundraiser : 37 hours per week : Southampton

Salary £22,000 to £26,000 dependant on experience

Wessex Heartbeat are looking for an experienced and committed Community Fundraiser with a fresh perspective to the charity's community fundraising activities.

You will be working with a passionate and dedicated team to raise the charity's profile in the local community and work closely with them in all other areas of fundraising when required. 

The role requires an innovative person with a high level of enthusiasm and a sound understanding of community fundraising.

You must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team and be able to engage with a wide variety of audiences, from our medical teams and service users to local businesses and community groups.

The role is a full-time position, working a 37 hour week with occasional evening and weekend working.  There is free on site parking.

(Part time hours can be available for the right person.)

The Role

  • Develop existing and new organisations to expand fundraising opportunities.
  • Develop, promote and maintain a calendar of 'volunteer led' community fundraising activities and events.
  • Support and inspire our local community to engage and maximise income through volunteer and company led events.
  • Develop and support a group of volunteer fundraisers to support events in the community.
  • Work closely with our Digital & Marketing Manager to ensure local social media presence with regards to community fundraising is maintained and all events are promoted.
  • Participate in sharing ideas with the fundraising team.
  • Demonstrate skills with regards stewardship and building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders in house and externally.
  • The ability to maximise all fundraising income opportunities and be innovative in your approach.
  • Be confident in using Microsoft.
  • Have a sound understanding of Social Media channels.
  • When required, assist in other areas of fundraising within the charity.
  • Able to work occasional evenings and weekends (time off in lieu)
