Excitement builds for inaugural charity quiz night in Dorset

Dorset is set to host its first-ever quiz night in support of leading cardiac charity Heartbeat, with the aim of raising thousands of pounds to support vital heart health initiatives.

Beat the Heat will take place on Thursday 10th April at the Hilton in Bournemouth. The previous event on the Isle of Wight raised £1,220 for Heartbeat and its most successful event yet, held in Southampton in February, raising over £2,000 – so the stakes are high for the latest event in Dorset.

Teams of six will compete against each other, putting their general knowledge to the test while raising vital funds for the charity. There will also be a raffle and prizes up for grabs for the winning team.

Tanya Harder, Community Fundraising and Marketing Manager, commented: “We are looking forward to bringing our Beat the Heat quiz night to Bournemouth. This event is all about having fun and supporting a cause that truly makes a difference. We look forward to welcoming everybody on the night and adding to the recent successful events on the Isle of Wight and Southampton, which altogether raised over £3,200.”

“Bringing Beat the Heat to Dorset is also fitting for us, because around 30% of the families who stay at Rotary Heartbeat House come from Dorset, which provides a home away from home for patients receiving cardiac care and their families during their most challenging times.”

Tickets are available to book now, more details are on the Heartbeat website: https://www.heartbeat.co.uk/events/beat-the-heat-dorset-heartbeat-quiz-2025
