We’re proud to be participating in a project led by South Hampshire College Group (SHCG) and FEIF Innovate UK. This project explores how technology can support patients and their families. The Myra app is central to this initiative, and offers a wealth of resources and information to help patients and their families navigate hospital discharge and staying well once home.
The Myra app is free, available on android and apple devices and provides information and services covering a wide range of topics to ensure that you are informed and supported in your choices and decision-making.
Pre hospital, in hospital, care at home, residential care, travel, legal and financial, medication, equipment, transport, nutrition, continence, end of life care:
What might you find:
A list of questions to ask a care provider
A list of care providers in your local area
Links to organisations in the voluntary sector who can provide help and support
Access to providers of equipment to buy, hire.
Providers offering special offers to Myra users
Local dog walkers to care for your pet whilst your in hospital, or a meals on wheels service to help you settle back in at home
Information on benefits entitlement or who can claim travel costs for NHS appointments
We invite you to download the Myra app and explore its content for yourself. If you’re willing, the Myra team would appreciate your feedback, through the app’s ‘Talk to Us’ feature and if you know of services that you have found valuable please let the team know “recommend a resource”.
Working together, Myra want to build a strong resource tool kit for carers and patients.
What users are saying:
“It is so good, so comprehensive”
“I think as soon as a patient is admitted the family should be made aware of the app”
“Very pleased to see such a wide range of useful material”
“This app could be a real game changer”
