A charity quiz night has raised almost £2,800 before costs for cardiac charity Heartbeat to help it continue supporting Dorset’s cardiac patients and their families.
The quiz night brought together 15 teams for an evening packed with friendly competition, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. Claiming the winning title on the night were the “Tormanators” from planning and design consultants TorandCo, who triumphed after a fantastic performance. Close behind as runners-up were “Dimwits” from care home group Luxury Care, who also stole the spotlight by winning Best Team Name with their brilliantly witty entry, “Agatha Quiztie.”

Proceeds raised from the quiz and the raffle on the evening are going towards the renovation of Rotary Heartbeat House – the charity’s ‘home from home’ which provides accommodation for families whilst their loved one undergoes treatment at the University Hospital Southampton.

Matthew Cornick, Events & Corporate Fundraiser at Heartbeat, said: “Up to 40% of the families we welcome to Rotary Heartbeat House come from the Dorset area – many suddenly facing life-changing situations such as a heart attack or cardiac arrest, where there’s no time to prepare. Our fun, light-hearted quiz nights not only raise vital funds but also help shine a spotlight on the real impact Heartbeat has on families when they need it most.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part and for their enthusiasm and generosity. The funds raised will make a real and lasting difference, helping us enhance Rotary Heartbeat House so it can better meet the inclusivity and accessibility needs of the families we support. We are committed to ensuring it remains a warm, welcoming place where every guest can find comfort and a moment of peace. I can’t wait to see the impact this support will have!”
