A leading estate agency has selected Southampton cardiac charity Heartbeat as its chosen charity of the year.

With an impressive fundraising target of £2,500.00, Savills Southampton will be raising money for Heartbeat so it can continue delivering life-saving support and treatment to cardiac patients and their families.

Heartbeat delivers treatment and support to cardiac patients across the Wessex region and beyond as the Wessex Cardiac Unit at the University Hospital Southampton.

The charity also offers patients’ loved ones a sanctuary at Rotary Heartbeat House – a peaceful place to stay just a three-minute walk from the hospital where relatives can be close by during treatment.

Savills has already kicked off its fundraising efforts with clearing the house’s basement area ahead of improvement works, wrapping up bath bombs for relatives and the unit’s cardiac team as a gift and advising on the house’s upcoming renovations next year.

Gavin Hall, Head of Office for Savills Southampton said: “Heartbeat does some incredible work right in the heart of Southampton, and we want to make sure the impact it makes doesn’t go unnoticed. We’re delighted to announce Heartbeat as our chosen charity and we’re looking forward to kicking off our fundraising activities, especially with the busy Christmas period just round the corner.”

CEO of Heartbeat Mark Ind said: “This is a really exciting new partnership for us at Heartbeat. They’ve set themselves a hefty fundraising target but it’s an amount which would make an enormous difference to what we do. It’s thanks to support from our generous fundraisers that we can continue delivering life-saving services and be there for cardiac patients during what is often a very challenging time.”

Head of Operations at Heartbeat Tina Richardson said: “We want Savills to actively shape what we do at Heartbeat both through generous fundraising efforts and supporting us to expand what we can do for our beneficiaries. I’m looking forward to seeing what the year ahead holds for us with Savills backing us!”
