A hugely successful fundraising event was held in Guernsey on the 9th May, bringing together supporters, local businesses, and members of the community for a memorable celebration filled with music, entertainment, and fundraising.
The special event, organised by Rene Archer, featured a fantastic Frankie Valli Tribute Act which attracted many people to come together to enjoy an unforgettable atmosphere at the beautiful Cobo Bay Hotel.
Guests were treated to live entertainment, performances from talented local support acts, and delicious food throughout the event, all while raising vital funds for two important charities — Heartbeat and Le Bourgs Hospice.
Anna Malcolm, Guernsey Liaison for Heartbeat, commented: “Fundraising events like these are so special because they bring people together to enjoy a wonderful community occasion, while also helping charities like Heartbeat continue supporting Guernsey cardiac patients and their families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.”
The weekend created a wonderful community spirit, with attendees generously donating and showing their support for the work both charities do for families and patients.
All proceeds raised from the event will be split between Heartbeat and Le Bourgs Hospice, with Heartbeat’s share going towards the renovation of Rotary Heartbeat House to include inclusive and accessibility facilities into the house.
Heartbeat would also like to extend a huge thank you to the sponsors whose generosity helped make the event possible: Dominion Capital, Albany Trustees, Cobo Bay Hotel, Herm Island, Sark Shipping, Island Rib Voyages, Valpys, La Reunion Restaurant, A1 Crab Supplies and Guernsey Surf & Turf.
Amelia Firetti, Heartbeat’s Dorset and Guernsey Fundraising Coordinator, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support we continue to receive from the Guernsey community. We cannot thank everyone enough who attended, donated, performed, sponsored, and helped make the day so special. The atmosphere throughout the event was truly heartwarming, and it was wonderful to see so many people come together in support of two causes that mean so much to so many families. Every donation raised will help make a genuine difference to the lives of patients and families during some of their most challenging times.”
The event highlighted the strength of the Guernsey community and the incredible support shown towards local charitable causes.
