Cardiac charity raises nearly £30k at summer party

ree

More than 200 guests gathered at the Concorde Club this summer which raised a grand total of £27,492 for Southampton cardiac charity, Heartbeat.

Charity beneficiaries and their families, along with staff from Heartbeat, came together for an evening of fundraising and celebrations, with live entertainment Compere Adger Brown, magician Colin Phillips, Roy G Hemmings and The Primettes.

There was also a raffle and silent auction with some big prizes on offer including hotel stays, festival tickets, luxury hampers and other goodies.

Funds raised will go towards supporting young cardiac patients’ activity days and residential trips, giving them a chance to make new friends going through the same treatment journey.

Head of Business and Donor Development Tina Tolley said: “We had a fantastic turnout on the day and we’re so grateful to everyone who came and helped make it a success. The Concorde Club gave such an excellent service as always.”

“We’d also like to thank Mike Andrews for providing our lighting and staging, Alan Brindle for photographing the evening and David Hobbs for our beautiful brochure printing.”

She added: “The people who benefit from Heartbeat’s support have often been through very challenging times, whether they’re a patient or a loved one. Our summer party both recognised the team’s hard work and celebrated the positive impact we’re able to make.”

"The generosity of the guests was phenomenal. We heard three young cardiac patients talk about their stories, and how Becky, one of our youth workers, had changed their lives by always being there for them at a such a difficult time. It was very emotional.” Tina Continued.
