Cardiac charity Heartbeat is challenging Isle of Wight residents to test their knowledge at its first ever Beat the Heat quiz on the island.

On the back of its hugely successful event in Southampton, which raised a record-breaking £2,850, Beat the Heat Isle of Wight takes place on 6th March at the Ryde Castle Hotel.

Teams looking to beat that record can consist of up to six people, and a curry supper is included in the registration fee of £20 per person.

With a range of exciting prizes up for grabs, including a raffle draw, and of course the winners’ trophy, the excitement is already building.

Tanya Harder, Community Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Heartbeat, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing Beat the Heat to the Isle of Wight! After the incredible success of our Southampton quiz night, where we smashed our own fundraising record—raising over £2,850 to support cardiac patients and their families—the stakes have never been higher!

“We support hundreds of people from the Isle of Wight every year whose loved ones are receiving treatment at the Wessex Cardiac Centre, University Hospital Southampton. With 13% of the relatives that stay in Rotary Heartbeat House coming from the IOW, all the funds we raise at this quiz night will go towards helping us continue to provide such a safe haven for the relatives in their time of need.

“I’d like to encourage everyone to rally their friends, book their place and bring their A game for an epic quiz night that will push their trivia skills to the limit.”

This year’s quiz has nearly sold out but you can still register for the IoW Beat the Heat event but be quick: https://www.heartbeat.co.uk/events/beat-the-heat-iow-heartbeat-quiz-night. Next year’s date will be announced very soon.
